Mixing coolant

    Hi all,

    The current coolant in my Peugeot (Glysantin G33, OAT) needs to be topped up and I came across Preston coolant which is guaranteed to be compatible with all coolants. They also have a guarantee doc.

    The G33 coolant is not available to purchase online, hence I'm thinking of buying Preston and topping up with it.

    I'm wondering if anyone mixed it with either Glysantin G33 or Glysantin G30 and if they can share their experience?

    All modern OAT silicate-free coolants are the same as far as I know. The colour isn't as important as it used to be either.

    I've mixed prestone coolant into my Nissan to top up a leak about 2 years ago and I haven't had any issues.

    I have heard that different types of coolants are not meant to be mixed together, but I've yet to hear of a case where this has been a problem.

    If you are concerned about doing damage then you could top up with De-ionized water.

    How much coolant do you have to top up? If it's a significant amount then there could be a leak.

    The coolant is currently between the min and max so only a small top up.
