Hi everyone I was looking for a small van and I have my eye on either a citroen berlingo or a Peugeot partner I know there almost identical Van's but is one the more reliable or overall better van ? I will be buying 2016 or 2017. Also will it be worth my while to add the little extra cash for the bluehdi model ? I have been told the regular model is pretty decent on diesel on the engine without the bluehdi is this true ? Although I can only seem to find the bluehdi in 75hp not 100 or above just wondering what is over all better van and if it's worth the extra cash for a bluehdi thanks everyone 😊

They are the same van just different badges.
There have been some with turbo problems and injector seals seem to give trouble.
Regular servicing and using the right oil seems to help.
Buying second hand a good service history is vital.
I don't know if the Blue HDI is any better.

They’re both the same thing. They’re horribly outdated and poorly designed in the cabin though, a Ford Transit Connect is light years ahead in this respect and still gives you the 3 front seats.

Yes I agree about that they are horribly designed there not a great looking van . The only problem I have with the connect is the third seat it's so small it might aswell not be there there is no way you would even fit in 2 medium size adults with the seats in the connect other than that it's a beautiful van

Just to add to this if it's any help. I have the Peugeot blue HDI 75 model and I got 50 mpg on the last tank. I have a gardening business so lots of short journeys from house to house.

I was in the market for a new one in 2017 and went with Partner. The advantage Partner/Berlingo had over Transit Connect and Caddy was that you can fit in a europallet lenghtways between wheel arches, ie. there is 1220mm space there. That wasn't the case with the other two. I am averaging 5.6l/100km mixed driving. Have done 36k km, no issues, too early to comment on reliability. Agree with what was said on interior, very bland, from a different era, think it hasn't changed much since 2009.

Even in 2008 most of the switches were from 1998. That aside it’s the ergonomics that kill it for me.

You can be sure that the transport managers who bought them in their thousands and the finance directors who signed the cheques never sat in one.

That's very good mpg considering for all short journeys on motorway I assume would get much better ? How does the adblue work does it last pretty long or must it be topped up regularly

Well I dont so much need the room in the rear its the front I would like to be spacious but rhe front of connect is really tight that third seat is very small . The only down fall is it is very bland but they seem to be 100s of them on the roads

The cabin in Partner is wider, but the 3rd seat is still tiny. Travelling with 3 people in it long distance would be a torture. You would manage short trips, but still you are talking skinny people :D

Don't know yet. I was told it should last 10k - 15k km but not sure yet as it's my first add blue. According to the manual you are warned at 5k kms left so more than that anyway

I had my mind set on the berlingo but then I spotted this custom I would much rather bigger van for comfort and space in the cabin but what puts me off is the fuel consumption I would reckon it was be atrocious on these Van's over the size difference I do alot of city driving also so would be poor mpg

You’ll probably average low 20s in city and late 30s on open road.

The new model Trafic/Primastar 1.6 diesel is unreal on diesel. It would probably be out of budget though?
