Upgrading from 2009 Ford Fiesta

Looking to upgrade from my 2009 1.25 Petrol Ford Fiesta, one owner before me (My mother) and I'm driving 9 months and have a full licence.

Looking to upgrade to something newer, small bit bigger than a fiesta but not quite as big as say a passat, and something fairly decent spec wise too.

Looking at this at the moment.

Is this too big of a jump in peoples opinion? Am I better off selling the Fiesta privately compared to trading in?

    Seems horrendously overpriced.

They’re a discontinued model now, and were not a popular car when launched. List price on a new one is €2k more than that. That’s got better spec than a base model but is crazy money for what it is.

Skoda are a great brand and rapid was OK but short lived. Octavia is a little more for a lot.

I'd look at cars 3 years old. Better value for money.

For example, here is another 171 with a bit of spec on it for €14k, even at that I think it’s worth less

Thanks everyone for the heads up, exactly the reason I came on here, for some advice.

Believe it or not I seen a Seat Leon the other day and thought it was lovely, the spec on that white one is good too.

@Colm would you mind posting that link again? I couldnt see it unfortunately.

Without being another 'How much is my car worth' post, and I know no valuation can be given over a forum.. How much do you think id be looking at for my Fiesta, realistically? (127k km on it and just passed NCT)

If car is in good condition body wise (no dents or scrapes) and a reasonable spec (alloy wheels etc) 3800 would be reasonable
