Family car recommendation, €10k budget

Myself and wife are about to have 2 kids under 2. Currently driving an 08 Golf, GT Sport, petrol, low mileage. Both of us cycle or bus it to work, walk or cycle young lad to creche. Only use car for weekend shopping, for creche pick-ups during week if it is pouring, and occasional trips down the country to visit grandparents or for work. I like the golf because it is small for town but decent engine for motorway.

But it is already a squeeze to get the three of us, plus buggy, plus travel cot, plus bags etc into car for a weekend away. End up filling boot and back seat around the young lad in kids seat. Not a hope in a few months when we will have 2 kids seats in back.

    Would like:
A decent engine (on a par with the Golf)
Isofix, and space for 2 kids seats.
Decent boot - space for family of four.
    Hatchback
Petrol (or hybrid if it makes sense)
Would like fancy electronics (bluetooth, gps, parking etc), but not a deal breaker.

Thinking we will have €10k, plus the 08 Golf to trade in (in good nick, high spec, good service history, and low mileage).

I am thinking a 2014/15/16 Skoda Octavia, but a lot of them seem to have 1L engines, which seems very small. Half-thinking an older BMW, or Audi (A4 estate?). Or the largest size of Ford Focus. I wouldn't be a huge fan of these fake SUV things that are clogging up the roads, but someone said I'd get the space and value from a Dacia Duster??!! Also looked at Prius, but not sure if worth it considering how little we use the car.

    Any recommendations?

Like the post above, I'd be going for something like an Audi a6 avant/estate. Stylish, roomy, economical, bit of power, nice car. You won't go as far up the years as you would with an octavia but if you look hard enough you'll find the right car for you. Brexit delayed until. Oct 31st now so UK is still on the table
