Buying a house with 2 Gas Boilers

I'm buying a house and noticed on a 2nd visit that it has 2 Gas Central heating systems. Appears one is for upstairs and the other is for downstairs with no Zone Thermostats. A hot water cylinder exists upstairs also.

Is this common or at least not uncommon?

What are the future options to consolidate this? For reference the house is 2400sq foot and a 2 story bungalow with 5 bedrooms.

Can Thermostats be added either wired or wireless?

I have a Surveyor visiting the property tomorrow but seeing as he's unlikely to be experienced in such installations I figured I'd ask here.

    Thanks in advance. ;)

You would really have to have someone out to look at it, depends on plumbing, size of boilers etc.
    No real simple yes/no answer
