Second hand 7 seater

Looking for a bit of a steer here.

Have a petrol 08 Zafira design model with 119000 Kms on it. It's due it's NCT in a month and it's got a small oil leak somewhere that needs to get fixed.

I wondering is now the time to change it? I've started doing some increased millage with work in the last few months so would be looking for a second hand 7 seater that's a bit more comfortable, economical and will do for a few years. Will have had the Zafira for 3 years and it's been fine apart from a struggle with three car seats. Budget would be up to 10k which includes whatever I'll get as a trade in. Can only do garage sales as I prefer the illusion of security when buying from a garage.

Any tips/advice greatly appreciated. Trying to figure out is it worth it just keeping the Zafira, fixing the oil leak and keep driving it for a few years yet.

I'd first get the source of the leak checked and see how much to fix before rushing out to buy another car.

A lot of the Opel engines have an issue with leaks on the oil switch.
It's a very simple change that can be done within minutes, so definitely check the source before you go changing it just for that reason

11900kms on an 08? very small mileage. Personally I'd just get the oil fixed and drive on.

That’s very low mileage. You won’t get much for it. Id keep it and get it fixed , much cheaper then spending 10k and trying to be economical.

The biggest cost of a car is depreciation. So you spend less money overall by driving your current car as long as possible until it stops basically. Unless it becomes uneconomical to run and repair. You're not close to this yet.

Sounds like you want to change to something bigger and looking for an excuse to do so. Simply wanting to change is enough.

Thanks for all the replies. Think you were right, I probably was just looking for an excuse to change. As I would probably not get much for a trade in, spending that amount of money now would probably be a waste. Will stick with what I have and get the oil leak fixed.
