    Hi all
Can someone please help me and share as much information as possible on this would be much appreciated
I have been working in a company for over 10 years I have always received good comments on my yearly reviews never had an HR problems etc..etc..

5 years ago I moved to a different position and everyone got a raise on salary, but my raise was not as much as my colleagues I was annoyed at the time, because before the raise I was already with the company 5 years and my colleagues that joined some were only there less than a year and ended up receiving more than I received in the raise and also take home. Anyways I was annoyed at the time, but was just happy with the new position I moved on.

During this time multiple team members received a promotion, but I still received nothing
Now during this year our team of 14 members is going through a change there is 7 members on nights and 7 on days our team used to be 16 so it was an even amount 8 days 8 nights so 4 worked the beginning of the week and 4 end of week so basically half a year we worked weekends and the other half not you get the point..

So what is annoying me is that my manager now since only 7 are on nights and not an even amount to cross change from beginning to end has put be down to do all end of the week shifts without even discussing with me first which I feel completed targeted in this team now
Atleast to even have out names pulled from a hat as such, but just to choose me at random

Do I have a case here of victimization at work? as this is completely effecting my health and home life, but dont want to just leave work and give in to this either id rather fight it if I feel im targeted I guess i know I am thats why I on here requesting help please share as much info as possible on my rights with this

    Thanks all

I don't know if you are really a victim per se r, maybe unhappy with your lot but to say you are a victim is a little over the top I think.
in terms of your rights, you should check your contract to see what it says in terms of having your hours changed.

In terms of promotion etc, maybe they are happy with your performance but they are happier with the performance of others.?

Doesn't sound like victimisation to me.

    1. The reason your colleagues get higher pay increases is either because the company thinks they are more valuable than you, or because they have better negotiating skills.

    2. The reason your colleagues are getting promoted is because the company thinks they should be in those positions. Either they are asking for promotions, making the right connections (politics), or they're just suitable for the promotions.

    3. It's a little hard to understand what you're saying about the shift work, but can I ask, have you spoken to your boss about this? It's possible others have said they would prefer to work X and Y days, and because you've said nothing, you end up in this shift.

You can control 1 & 2 by negotiating better, being better at your job, making the right friends, letting management know you want a path to management (or whatever it is you want).

3 requires a conversation with your boss.

Take a deep breath and try to keep things in perspective. You do not have a big problem.

I think its time you moved on from this employer, they dont sound like they value you or your manager is not a good communicator or professional to me.

I worked in an organisation for 7 years, went for promotion 3 times, got the CV up dated and moved on, far happier now, good team, decent perks.

If you haven't got promoted in your 10yrs service Id deffo be looking around, get the CV up-dated and look for an exit strategy, Linked In, Agencies, job websites, start networking.

Best of luck in your endeavours

If your unhappy with your shifts you should bring it up with your superior. They might be able to sort it for you easily who knows! The point is you have to make the first move here. Your not doing anything wrong by bringing up the subject. Just be prepared, make the case in advance in your head and just repeat it back. Don't assume they are picking on you cause actually that's not fair to them either.
