Hi ive recently got my hands on a 1990 celica from the north now on further inspection on the v5 its first date of regestration is 1997 so my question is will the vrt for the car be from date of manafacture or date of first regestration?

as far as i know its date of first registration.

No its a uk car regestered in uk date of manufature is 1990 search for parts it comes up as a 1900 but on dvla it was first regestered in 1997? Im thinking maybe a demo model? As the newer st202 celica was brought out in late 1993

Could have been im just wondering when i bring it for vrt next year will it be charged as a 30 yr old vintage or from the date in 1997?

VRT goes by year of first registration

I don't think there'll be much difference in the price regardless if it was 1990 or 1997. The only thing is that if it were me I wouldn't want a 97 plate on a 1990 car.

Thats it i dont want a 1997 plate on a 90 or the fact paying dear vrt when the be 30 years old aka vintage

So where was it from 1990 to 1997? Why wasn't it registered? Does the V5 VIN match the vehicle?

Had a good look through the v5 this eve all chasis numbers match, but what i did find is it was registered outside the uk hence the first reg in uk in 1997 so its a jap i would think so should be a 1990 am i right in saying?
