Nor sure if this is the right forum...or should be motors.

We've "inherited" a car from a family friend who has now left these shores. Car is beyond saving (01 car ready for scrapheap) but we don't have the logbook. I did help him out by taxing it so I have the receipt from online tax confirming owner name and address. What are my options for scraping the car ?. We obviously can't go through the replacement Vehichle Reg cert as he's not around to complete the forms at the Garda station. I know there are scrap dealers who will just take it but aren't registered to issue end-of-life certs...I'd prefer not to go this route but one way or another I need to get rid of it.

    Any ideas ?.

    Thanks,
    K

might be better to ask in motors https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=47

But lots of places issue certs. And it's easy enough to re-register if you have the docs. There's a form you get signed with the Guards to declare off road so your man won't have to pay back tax.
