Is the robin reliant insured as a motorcycle or car?

They're considered a tricycle/3 wheeler and insured appropriately.

Tricycle: Where a person had an entitlement to the category B full licence prior to 19 January 2013 that also covered them to ride tricycles. They still retain that entitlement. All first full Licences issued for the category B from 19 January 2013 would not have this entitlement and therefore they must take out the appropriate Bike category to ride a trike. The appropriate bike category will depend on the CC of the Tricycle.

Just some further info..

If you got your full B licence before 19/1/13 you are automatically entitled to an A licence.

However it will have a 46 restriction code next to it, which means trikes only.

NO 2 wheelers

46 Tricycles only

Hardly? I had to sit a test for my full A just this year. Even with the restriction it wouldn’t have been what I needed but this is the first I’ve heard of that.

Where did you discover this false information? I had B for long before then and I had to sit the A test.

The only 2 wheeler you could ride was a moped if you got your B before 21 Oct 2006.

That's because you need a trike licence to use it, but it's insured as a car. Easy enough to get confused.

All the "false," information I discovered was on the NDLS website, I actually linked to this "False information"... Strangely enough , it's the same "False Information" link that you also posted.

Also.. you may not have noticed that a Tricycle has 3 wheels.. not 2.

The OP is asking about a 3 wheeled vehicle.

Just to clarify, there was a grace period where you could have been given an A licence with the 46 restriction, had you a full B prior to 2013.
It was to facilitate people who were driving trikes on a B licence.

I understand that it is no longer possible to have this A with 46 retrospectively applied to older licences.
