Over the past while this has being in the media that people who took part in homosexual activity could be stoned to death and the penal code/laws came into effect in the past few days.
These laws were brought in by Hassanal Bolkiah who is a very wealth man. He has shares in a lot of oil companies and own several luxury hotels. Celebrities are now calling for a boycott of these hotels. Even with this he'd still be very well off.
His collection of bespoke cars is scary.

What do Boards make of it?
Personally I'd wouldn't support these laws and I doubt I'd visit his hotels. We always being told to let people express there culture/faith tough.

    That was a mistake!

    Also, what's your view?

As he is the richest man in the world I doubt the boycott will make any difference to him personally however the boycott is a good idea moral pressure does make a difference.

There is probably more to this than meets the eye he is signaling something to someone.

I would always respect the laws of other countries I’m a visitor in, wouldn’t have any issue with staying in any of the hotels either. From what I gather though, it’s still not illegal to be gay, it’s illegal to have anal sex, and it must be witnessed by four people...

Paddy Jackson won’t want to be heading to Brunei any time soon so :p

I’m making a stand. I shall not be staying in any of his €10,000 a night hotels. I urge you all to do the same.

My view is that I most certainly condemn these backwards and discriminatory “laws”, no probablies about it. I also think that it shouldn’t have to be celebrities who start the campaign going.

It’s high time that the West impose heavy sanctions on any country that brutalises and targets its own citizens, regardless of the resources they provide. Hiding behind barbaric “culture” should no longer be an acceptable excuse for doing nothing.

I went to the Hotel Boycott for a drink but they refused to serve me.

I support this campaign. I'll never stay at their hotels. I've transferred all my business to hotels owned by Saudis.

When I was at college one of my lecturers used be a chef at The Dorchester. He'd turn you off it for life.

Well that’s just lovely. What a lovely man. What a lovely culture. What a lovely religion. What a century to be living in to witness such loveliness.
