    Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else experienced the same where you're given no price at the VRT inspection as it needs to be sent to Revenue.

I was told they'd get back to me in 10 days but the inspection was on the 13th March and I still haven't heard anything. I rang the NCTS but they just confirmed that there was nothing back from Revenue yet and there was nothing I could do but wait.

Anyone else experience this? If so, how long were you waiting?

The car is nothing out of the ordinary - a 171 BMW 320D.

    Thanks

There has been some chatter here in numerous threads about there being a backlog with Revenue due to Brexit. People and motor dealers have been importing a large volume of cars recently due to the pending or not pending UK exit from Europe date.

The reason it's gone to revenue is because it's a 2 year old premium car so they will appraise it for factory extras when calculating the VRT.

Valuations from the 11th/12th coming back today, you shouldn't be waiting too long. when you get the price there make sure there are no penalties included (assuming you had the vrt appointment within 30 days) you shouldn't incur penalties due to Revenues delay.

Yep had the same experience. Brought in a bog standard little car. Vrt bloke said he needed to send to Revenue. Was told 48 hrs. they told a week, then told 12 days. had to ring and put pressure on to get it sorted

Thanks all. They came back last week. The whole process is bizarre - no breakdown of how the cost is calculated. Just makes it feel more of a breakdown than it already is.
