    Hey guys,
I'm currently converting my garage into a living area,
A new door frame has been fitted from our hall.. into our new living space.

We have been poking the frame etc to ensure its secure..
    Frame itself is.
But the surrounds of the area which stripped back would be broken original cavity blocks..

Plaster board has just been placed on top and cemented in.
    Should this be more secure?
If you poke it, it visibally bends.

Also, above the door, should there be a steel bar or lintel in place as it's an external wall?

There was a steep pole, much like a broom brush handle which my other half could bend with one hand.
This was resting between the brick and plaster board over your head.

Please tell me I'm not mad thinking this is isnt safe?
