Staples for a Duo-Fast HT550 Hammer Stapler?

afaik this is an old American roofers hammer stapler. Think I paid 50p for it at a car boot sale in the UK 30 or more years ago, back then I could get the staples.

Anyway my wife is adamant that she needs to use it on a project but can't find the staples. The way it looks is it would be cheaper to buy a new stapler than get the right staples from America.

So anyone got an idea where I might get them in Ireland or the UK?

I was in a similar position years ago- old stapler and couldn't get matching staples anymore. Might be worth trying a proper builder's providers as I know my local one used to carry a comprehensive range of different staples, you could be lucky. Alternatively do what I did at the time- I bought an inexpensive new Stanley staple gun that takes a widely available type 140 staple, which is used in a lot of other branded staplers and hammer tackers. I've also "stockpiled" on some of the most used staple lengths, whenever I see them cheap.

I found it on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00023S9W6 but seller doesn't deliver to Ireland so that put me off contacting them but its an obvious option that I hadn't tried.

My wife was in the local builders merchants today and they tried lots of different staples in it but none would work. Some fit but get jammed. They are a bit of an odd size (http://duo-fastconstruction.com/fastener/7500-Series-19-Gauge-Staples) but as my wife has seen the price of the new stapler on Amazon she is even more keen to get staples for it.

I picked up my stanley heavy duty stapler for about €20 in a bricks and mortar shop a few years ago and I picked up another one, little used for €10 on adverts not long after. I got a load of suitable staples in McQuillans (not known for cheap) for less than €4 or €5 per box of 1000.
