Employment checks pre and post drawdown

I am just wondering in the week before drawdown and in the week after drawdown, what type of contact will the bank make with your employer, do they phone the company etc? Will they contact the company post drawdown? If so, would they contact your manager or the finance department?

I have kept my intention to buy a house private from my colleagues (obviously finance department had to fill in my salary cert, but they would be very confidential anyway).

I m anticipating the bank ringing the office and depending on who answers the phone at time and takes a message, word could soon get out amongst my colleagues?!!

Your company won't be contacted. You submitted the salary cert and that's it.

They won't contact your employer at all.

They can check your bank statements for consistency, but they don't ring your work.
