I'm more offended by the word marathon describing a 10km run

It's not. The prefix mini in front of it allows you to shrink it to whatever size you want! Sometimes you need that in your head when you run.

I feel it's probably fine as is, absolutely noting wrong in organizing a women only marathon.

If men wants to take part for the fun of it, dressing up and supporting a significant women or club in their own lives, or for the memory of someone, or for charity perhaps, it should be tolerated. Organizers should not be militant about making it women only. Of course male participants shouldn't be allowed to win it, but they should be allowed to finish and get a time, medal, photos etc for the fun of it.
