    Hey,

Not sure if anyone will have the answer to this but appreciate it if they do!

I'm going to cancun for a week to a private resort with the other half and just wondering whether I should get us dollars or Mexican pesos for tipping and small purchases there?
The resort is all inclusive so won't be spending much but just want to be sure to bring the right currency.

    Thanks!

I am not long back from Mexico and definitely you should get dollars before traveling. You can easily change them to peso at the hotel reception which is handy for tipping or taxis. Some of the larger stores in big towns will take dollars but it’s no problem to exchange for pesos in the hotel. Have a great time!

You'll get a bad exchange rate at the hotel but you don't need dollars for anything. The peso is fine.

15 years ago but pesos better. Everywhere took dollars but rounded prices up.

We went 3 years ago and brought pesos, definitely better than dollars. You might want to get out of the resort to do little trips etc , pesos is what you need.

Was there last August and used pesos everywhere. Took them from a bank ATM, seemed to be the best rate.

Anyone know a place in Dublin that you can get pesos at a good exchange rate?
