Any advice on how to re-stick the outside mirror back on a vw polo 2010 which is also heated, any recommendations on glue etc, not sure what previous owner used but the mirror decided to part company today but luckly I caught it in time

Which piece came off? The glass isn't really stuck on, its attached to a black plastic mount which clips to the mirror, the only fix is to buy new glass with the black mount attached usually. Has someone stuck on a cheap replacement in the past?

Yes it was what looks like stuck to a backing plate, and not sure if it is spurious glass, just looking for a quick fix for now as will get a proper one later

Quick fix would be double sided tape. Heater won't work but it won't work with glue either..

Yeah think I’ll just superglue it on cause it almost fell off when driving last night but stopped in time to remove it fully. I’ll get a full new one if this comes unstuck again just for now it will be a quick fix

Just get a new one now, they only cost about 40 Euro. You'll save the hassle and cost of fluting around with glue/adhesive and a cheap mirror glass. You could end up damaging the mirror mechanism itself which will cost you more in the long run.
The previous owner did exactly what you are doing... "a shure it'll be ok" and now you are trying to repair his mistake. (Or you could leave it till the next owner, and let them sort it out)

Heated mirror glass is really cheap for these on Micks Garage. Replaced one recently myself.......then the other one fell off during the week

Yep 22 notes. better than the 70 the wife paid when the other side fell out last year.

Gotta say these Golfs have a terrible build quality
