Some airlines insist on seeing the card used to pay at check in.

Some airlines insist on seeing the card used to pay at check in.

I’ve never seen that. Our travel desk book flights for our company and it’s never been asked for.

What airline does this. And do they not have online check in ?

    Royal Jordanian do it.

This is from a booking confirmation I received:
Payment Card holder must be traveling with the passenger and should present the Card used to purchase the ticket(s)(purchased from RJ.COM) at the check-in counter for verification. Royal Jordanian reserves that right to deny boarding any passenger who fails to represent the payment Card used to purchase his ticket (purchased from RJ.COM).

If Card holder is not traveling with the passenger then passenger has to present the original Payment Card used to purchase the ticket(s) (purchased from RJ.COM) and a copy of Card Holder passport/ National ID at the check-in counter for verification to be able to travel. Royal Jordanian reserves that right to deny boarding any passenger who fails to comply.

In case of an expired / stolen payment card before departure date, a formal letter should be provided from the issuer bank which proves identity, all required information of the card holder and the previous stolen/expired card number, which is mandatory to be sent to the ibesupport@rj.com prior departure date, as it is not acceptable to be provided at the airport.

If you are using Virtual Payment Card to purchase online then you will have to present your virtual card certificate, supplied by your bank as part of the use of a virtual card process, before we can accept you on-board.
Above rules shall not apply to PayPal, Giro pay, Union pay and Ideal.

I've never been asked by Aer Lingus to see the booking credit or debit card. I've booked flights for others on my card for Aer Lingus and it has never been a problem.

Some Middle Eastern and Asian airlines ask to see cc but certainly not Aer Lingus.

On the question of booking flights can anyone tell me if there are any issues to booking seperate flights. ie out with ryanair and back with Aer Lingus to the canaries? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

You will be grand. Never had any problem within Europe or North America going on flights that were booked not using my credit card.

I did have flights booked from Japan to USA once with someone elses credit card. I then read the terms and conditions which said you need the CC, so I cancelled them and rebooked using my own card. Sure enough when I got to the counter they asked for the card. I had kept the card under lock and key since booking them.

    Lovely present by the way.
