    Hi.
Does anyone know the estimates of the book of quantum, whether the minimum amount to maximum amount awarded are accurate?
Is there ever a time when less will be offered than the guidelines?

If anyone can answer me, thanks very much

The Book of Quantum only serves as a guideline. You could get more, you could get less, and as always with court, you could get nothing.

The Book operates on the principle that there are three types of injury; minor, moderate and severe. In reality life doesn't work like that. You could have an injury that falls between minor and moderate etc. And the Book of Quantum doesn't know your prognosis so any figures are only rough guesses as to what you'd get if you went to court.

Book of quantum is generally to give the judge a ball park figure to go from. It also does not cover psychological or pain and suffering damages which tend to be a bulk amount of a lot of cases

PIAB will stick within its guidelines more than judges will, but their are other factors that can lead to a significant amount of more money being given, scarring or psychological issues relating to the accident for instance.
