Probably an odd question, but worth an ask...

Where a significantly physically disabled adult who has full mental capacity has no family of their own, is it possible to be 'adopted' for want of a better word, into a family who are their greatest friends???...

The family in question are this person's support structure...

I believe that in other countries such a thing is possible, but never heard of it here...

    Thanks....

    Darth...

Only a child can be adopted. If an adult wants a new family they can marry one of the members.

    Thank you, Claw Hammer....

Interesting suggestion.... Think the spouses of the family members in question may object, though!... :D

Thanks for taking the time to reply...

They can of course become the disabled persons full time carer or/and person could become a lodger with said family. I don’t think legally he can become part of the family.
He can make them next of kin on medical paper work if that’s what he wants.
