Selling '98 Integra

Howdy folks,

Need some opinions on this.

Mate of mine is selling his old 98 Honda Integra, the car has seen much better days and he was up front about it. He listed in on Donedeal for €1000 and people seem to be biting the hand and all off him for it.

Since the only frame of reference we had was a DC2 Type-R thats going for 9k, do you guys think that he listed it too low?

Yeah, something like that is a timewaster magnet, unfortunately.

I think it's actually a DC1, not a DC2, so i'd probably change that, as the engine from a DC2 alone is worth more than your asking price in good condition, so you might have people chasing after that.

It's worth a fair bit in parts, there's some bits there that JDM obsessors would go mad for like the mats, the flare, the gear knob. The wheels, bumpers and spoiler are probably worth a bit too and there may be some unknown goodies like the exhaust and is that a gauge controller or a multi 12v plug down by the drivers left knee :P. I'd say it's worth the guts of your asking price as parts, so you're there or thereabouts.

IMO, unfortunately, it's nothing more than a parts car (and I hate to see old Japanese stuff needlessly broken for parts), if it's failed the NCT on rust, it's not something "a wire brush and a lick of paint" can resolve and you can also see in the pic's that the rear arches are starting to let go rust wise and I believe when you start to see rust on the outer arch of these, that the inner arches and sills will be like a tea bag.

I'd probably stick with the write up, include DC1 in the title, add a pic of the engine bay and increase the price to €1500 and the first person to come and view it with €1000~ can take it, that shouldn't take very long.

If it had good bodywork, drivable with an NCT, it's be a €2-3k car tops. It's only really the DC2's that are holding value and even at that, that one you've linked is up for sale a long time and is a bit over the odd's IMO.
