    Hi

looking for some advise. Looking for one of the Nissans, have been browsing social media for second hand one, couple have peaked my interest. My main question I have is around mileage. For example, i spoted a 2010 for 3,500 with 250 km on the clock, versus say a 2008 for simlar price with circa 180 km on clock. Is it always better to go with less mileage all other things being equal (except year of make) ?

    pros/cons?

I would always go lower mileage but it would depend on service history etc

Always good to get mechanic to give once over as well, a lower mileage might have arse driven out of it but a higher mileage could have been looked after.....

I'd question how genuine a 2010 Qashqai selling for 3.5k is to be honest. Looking at the likes of carzone and donedeal, even the cheapest leggy ones seem to be asking more than 4k.

    Those seem awfully cheap.

These days the mileage can be altered so easily that it should be one of the last things to look at.

Please get a mechanic to look over the car, maybe even arange an inspection at a main dealer?

The mechanic and the dealer should be able to make a list of issues with the car (every used car has some issues) and you can base your purchase on something more than just what you can see yourself.

The cost of such inspection should be in the €50-€100 range, obviously you don’t have to take every car to have it inspected but just the one that you are really happy with spec and overall condition wise.
