    So... hows your week going?:mad::mad:

    Need to get new tyres fitted to new rims, 245/30 20R they're apparently tricky from what I've read, Honda NA issued a circular to their dealers specifying particular machines required / capable of doing it without damaging the rims.

    Anyone got any suggestions of any good places I could go to get this done?

    Also for those wondering how much Honda wants to charge for wheels and tyres....

    Civic type R wheel from Honda will set you back 1200 per wheel, not including VAT. :eek::eek::eek::eek: Got it for half that online from UK.

    This is the result of hitting a kerb while half asleep coming home in the am. I imagine I will need to take it into Honda to get the suspension etc checked out as well anyway so may just get them to fit tyre on...

    I have yet to see a Tyre Machine in a Honda Main Dealer (or any Dealer). They will farm it out to whoever they normally use....your best bet is to ring around a few Tyre Places (or ask on a Honda Forum) and see who appears to know what they're talking about.
    Either that, or pester the sh!t out of the Service Rep at your Dealer and find out who they use, and if they have the Tyre Machine to do the job.

    In fairness, nearly all newish Tyre Machines have the extra Roller to push the Tyre down as it's being fitted. And they are all capable of having the Arm raised slightly so that the "Lever" doesn't touch the Rim.
    There are plenty of exotic alloys around now with very low-profile tyres fitted. I'm sure you wouldn't be the 1st to ring around the Tyre fitters enquiring about this.

    Anyone got any recommendations for good tyre fitters for fitting and alignment in South Dublin?

    You could try rim solutions. They refurb alloys, and the guy told me if ever I had new tyres I needed fitted to get onto them as they have a machine that doesn’t mark the rims

    Every main dealer in the country has a tyre machine. Most manufacturers have a tyre program for their dealers in which they can purchase tyres direct from a supplier or tyre manufacturer.
    Every single dealer Ive worked in or been in has a tyre machine.

    Now whether a dealer has a machine capable of doing the above tyre is another question. I know our machine wont handle 20" rims...max is probably 19s at a push.
    But then again Id say Ive had to get the workshop to fit 20" tyres about 4 times in total in my entire career so you don't really need a machine capable of 20" tyres.

    It's not just a matter of having a machine capable of supporting a particular size. It's a matter of not damaging the rim no matter what the size.

    I've seen it happen so frequently, great prices, great reviews etc etc & then rims come back grazed to X degree. And unless you have a written agreement with rlthem plus photo's you have no chance in hell.

    This is what I'm concerned about, with pictures any chance of come back if they're damaged?
