What's a reasonable amount of money to pay for a short-term gig with a personal trainer?
I'm in my 40s and I need to shape up. I've had a light running regimen in recent years but my knee is about to give up the ghost. Luckily, I have access to a gym in my apartment complex. But I haven't a clue what machines to use, or how to work on specific trouble spots, like my poor core strength, and very pronounced belly.
The gym in my estate doesn't have personal trainers in situ. So I guess it's a matter of approaching freelancers.
What should I ask, and what can I expect to pay to have somebody set me up over, say, 3 weeks? Or am I being unrealistic in my expectations??

How many sessions do you want to work with them for? Say 1 hour per session.
Do you want them to give you a diet/program? Allow 1-2 hours extra.

What do you think is a fair hourly rate?
    That's your answer.

40-50/hr seems to be the going rate
