I'd appreciate some advice regarding pain I am having.

I am currently in the obese BMI area, which I am work on to bring down with SW. It is working well. I joined a senior rounders team last year which I love, however I am struggling with severe pain in my shins. I train 2 to 3 times a week as well as walk/keep active daily.

With that particular sport, there is a lot of stopping starting, sprinting etc. I am also positioned as a bowler and again, the pain in my lower back can be excruciating in a match.

    Any advice for me :)

Go to a physio. Nobody on here can diagnose you based on a few words on a forum. Better off seeing a qualified professional.

    Thank you for the post.

However shin splints are quite common and I would appreciated reading how others have dealt with it.

Physio is certainly an option I can look into, although I'm sure there are many more 'options' to consider.

Quite common once diagnosed, you haven't had a diagnosis yet.

Rest and ice. Shin splints suck. At one point I couldn't walk down the stairs it was that bad.
Do low impact exercise such as cycling or swimming.

Do you play on grass yes? Considering the fact that your BMI is quite high I would probably advise against playing it until you can lower your weight and therefore lessen the load on your muscles, joints ligaments etc especially if you had been sedentary before taking it up...if You’re planning on continuing I’d suggest trying some exercises to strengthen your anterior tibialis on the front of the shin,

Matches are played on the grass. Training lately has been on the concrete due to pitch wetness. I am working on the weigh in the meantime, I am down 10 pounds in 2 weeks. The shin pain is not at every training session, but when I get them, it's bad. Someone mentioned a Gait analysis? I need to find somewhere to have this done

Sprinting /training on concrete can cause problems even with an ideal bmi, that’s a lot of weight fair play !
