Immersion v oil heating hot water

We have zoned system in the house so we can heat the water tank directly without having radiators on.

But we find it takes over 2 hours in the morning to heat the water using oil compared to only 20 minutes using the immersion.

Which would be more economical - I know it costs a lot more to heat the water using the immersion but it is only on for 20 minutes compared to the oil which could take 2 - 3 hours to give us the same amount of hot water

Does this sound right or may there be an issue with our water tank?

Perhaps a balancing valve turned to far and almost closing the coil. A pic taking in the bottom 2/3' of the hot-press cylinder would help. 30 or 40 min with oil should give you a substantial amount of hot water.

Thanks, we used to get enough hot water from oil within 30 - 40 minutes but its taking much longer now, don't think anyone turned the "valve", but i will check when i get home

    thanks again

Assuming that the oil boiler is well maintained and that valve is properly adjusted, you should have lots after that time.
