Scott Walker has died aged 76.

I first became aware of him from his excellent interpretations of Jacques Brel songs, including My Death:

The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Any More and Make It Easy On Yourself are two of the most eloquent musical expressions of sorrow I've ever heard.

He did some really out there stuff in the last couple of decades. There was that song about beating a donkey through the streets of Galway.

A sublime baritone, his first four LPs will stand the test of time. R.I.P.

    :(

One of my musical heroes. Montague Terrace (In Blue), It's Raining Today, Copenhagen and Two Ragged Soldiers will forever be some of my favourite songs of all-time. Rest in peace.

    Glorious 60's production.

Scott didn't do many interviews but here's one from 2017 where he talks about his early recording career:

Haha you must think we are all such youngsters here! :D

Records were not prevalent for most of my life indeed, but vinyl has made a comeback. :)

    RIP to a great singer.

Just goes to show how long ago the "Swinging Sixties" were as we are now nearly in the 2020s. The rebellious youth of the 60s are all now in their dotage.

Joni Mitchell turned 75 last December. Paul McCartney is nearly 77 and Ringo Starr is nearly 79. Mick Jagger is nearly 76. Willie Nelson is 84. We are living in the future. :/

    Great voice
I wasn't a fan of his music but I really like the fact that he existed.
