Hi, I have a Victorinox Maverick watch and the battery is going. I was looking to get it replaced and they say only to get in done by an authorised service centre. The closest one is in the UK so not much help to me. Is it necessary to do this or could a decent company here do this just as well? I am based in Galway so if anyone can recommend a reputable place here that would be great.

They say that as it’s a cash cow for them but they will reseal and ensure it’s waterproof before returning to you.
Any jewelry store can replace a battery if you are not fussed about the seals.

Is there any way of getting it sealed properly without having to send it to England to a licensed repair shop?

I've a feeling Breretons on Capel Street in Dublin could do it. The batteries are dead cheap, it's just getting someone capable of sealing it, and I know they have a watchmaker they use.
