    This is my opinion

If you intend keeping for long time as it's a new car to you , I'd get it changed and fully serviced . Water pump etc etc.

You know where your at then .....

I'm sure somebody will be around shortly to say I'm being to cautious tho .

I've got a seat leon diesel which has a vw engine-the recommended replacement is:belt and water pump every 80,000 or 5 years .

So your recommending getting a timing belt+water pump every 35k?

It comes down to how certain a person is of the past history / mileage etc of a car they just bought.
