Hi everyone how would I go about importing a van if I where to travel to England it would either be citroen berlingo or a transit connect would be looking for a 2015 or 2016.

How do you acually go about it I see people doing it all the time but how is it done how do they source the cars/Van's in the first place is there some website ? Or are they going to main dealers?

What also do you need I know you need to go by ferry to bring it back . What cost would it be to bring back a van also on the ferry do it have to be booked also or can you just hop on as it is leaving again from England.

I would be looking to import a van around July also would it be worth my while importing a van is it hard to find a low milage clean van over there ? Any info much appreciated thanks

You could start by looking in the commercial section of Ebay uk where you could either bid if you have an a/c or view the classifieds, either will give you an idea of how much you can save, there will be also many auctions on over there, just Google UK car auctions. When you know roughly what each make is making then convert Stg to Euro the price of a flight over the cost of return by ship on either Stenaline or Irish ferries the diesel and the Revenue clearance of approx 200euro you will know your cost without leaving home. Also for taxing you will need a vat number or associated business

I wouldn't really fancy buying one from bidding in a auction wouldn't really know anything about it or where it came from or anything.. is there any other way to source them or do everyone go to auctions or do they just look up dealers in England or go to main dealers ? either way importing you will always save will you ? So I have been told anyway the vrt is not a big deal only 200 if I got the ferry over and back do you know the rough cost of it ? A few of my buddy's have Van's and they dont have any vat numbers still got them taxed ?

This thread will answer a lot of your questions.

You can pay as you go at the ferry terminal but booked ticket is cheaper.

I've seen some nice ex-fleet vans from the UK.

    Beware of Brexit.

Re. Motor Tax. Different Local Authorities have their own requirements for commercial tax. Look up your LA website and get together all the paperwork they require.

At a quick glance on Ebay there is approx. 400 Berlingo vans between 2011/2017 on their classifieds, all the listings will have mileage, price etc quoted, the most important thing you need to see is has it a full service history. If you go down the route of buying it privately make sure you HPI it in case it has a hidden history

No deal brexit will mean 20/22%(sorry cant remember exact amount) duty on vans. So keep that in mind.
