We've just had approval in principle for remortgaging from KBC and have an option on fixed rates. There is a difference of €75 a month between them, so the 5 year is attractive, but I like the certainty of a long fixed rate.

I know the consensus has been for a rate rise this year, but it seems that a global slowdown has pushed this back.

What are peoples thoughts on long term rates? Is the 10 year a good bet?

That's a good rate for 10 year fixed I think. Are you happy to not be able to make any over-payments for 10 years?

I can make overpayments of 10% during the fixed period.
