Ford Focus door unlock switch not unlocking

    Hi all,

    Mother's 172 Ford Focus 1.5 Diesel, the doors will lock and unlock with the keyfob.

    However the switch on the drivers door, the unlock button works but the lock button wont, no noise, no light no nothing.

    Tried retraining the car to turn the autolock off but as the button wont work, it wont do it.

    Got a new switch from ford but still the same issue. Checked all fuses, connections etc.. It's as if the switch is broken, but the same issue is apparent with the new button.

    Will be 3 weeks before ford can look at it under warranty, however I don't think the issue is with the switch, any one have any ideas what it might be while we wait for it to go to ford.

    The mother doesn't like driving with the doors unlocked!
