Under English law, if you didn't testify you would have stones lopped on top of you until you did.

Men also. Most Sharia law implementations allow for both, and it tends to be carried out to both.

Iran for example stipulates that for adultery, men should be placed in a hole up to "above their waist" and women "up to their neck" and then stones thrown at them.

When Jean Bedel Bokassa was in charge in Central African Republic, his secret police reputedly (with strong evidence) implemented a torture whereby the torturer crushed the hottest chillies he could, made a thick paste from them being careful not to crush the seeds, and inserted the paste via a turkey baster into the victims anus. The chillies were so hot, they made the inside of the anus blister and burst, very often leading to a prolonged and agonizing death from blood poisoning.

Given that he was apparently fond of human flesh, the joke around the practice was that he liked his food well marinated and very spicy.
