    Hi guys,
I'm not a mechanic so bear with me please.
Heater was not hot so checked expansion tank. Level was low so popped off engine cover and saw a leak.
It's right at the bottom on my pic.
My question is can I remove the 3 bolts and clean up and use liquid gasket or is there a specific gasket to buy.
When I open am I gonna lose a load of coolant.
If so when I top it back up now do I bleed to remove any air.
I know I sound stupid but thanks in advance guys.

Forget plastic weld or anything like that. Just replace the leaking hose, provided that is where the coolant is coming from.

It looks as though it's leaking where it connects to the thermostat. Like a gasket or ring has failed

Nice engineering, the plastic parts for the hot water... What these engineers smokes?
Please check carefully where is the leak. Old seal or the plastic part are crack. Typically seals does not goes bad instantly. If it goes, it goes slowly over the time and the sediments reseals it. 90 degrees coolant + pressure + plastic = disaster.
Always use the proper seal. These so called liquid seals are pain in the ass. It does not work properly because the flat area is so minimal on one side (the original seal draft). Both side flat surface, no problem.

If car are 10+ years replace that stupid plastic part and on the same time replace the thermostat too.

Looks to me like the braided hose is after cutting through the hose it's lying on.

I wouldn't be guessing what is leaking.
Dry the area thoroughly with paper towels, dust it with talcum powder.
Fill the reservoir with coolant/water and see where the leak occurs first.
If it doesn't happen cold, start and run the engine until its warm watching for leaks the whole time.
Once you know what is leaking then you can fix it, it may be more than one leak so watch for that.
