    M

I would say mid to late 20's mpg. City driving likely to be about 20mpg.

    That’s not great.

Seems to be a rather heavy bulky car too.

Mid to upper thirties an a long journey, high twenties town driving. 750 tax is sore.

Feck. Ok. Didn’t think tax was that high. Noted.

You can nearly gauge the mpg from the tax.

I'd agree with the above, i'd expect late 30's on a run, mid 20's around town.

Looks like there's a big gouge out of the drivers side rear wheel arch in pic number 8 (of the rear seats) and the other photos are taken to cleverly avoid it.

Nicely spec'd car though and i'd say you could expect it to last forever.

Ok. Thought mpg would be slightly better. Good spot on pic 8.

    Seems a decent spec alright.

No turbos, Dpf, injectors or turbos to worry about so some piece of mind there. I wouldn't get too hung up on tax either. It's about 2euro a day.

According to parkers its 1500kg so I'd guess low 40s on the motorway and mid 20s in mixed city / urban driving.

What do ye make of this?

Is the ‘hirsch’ setup asking for trouble from an insurance and maintenance point of view?

As far as I remember, the Hirsch upgrade was an official Saab remap done by the dealers.

That said, it’s still a remap and still a modification and still ruins your insurance price if declared.

I cannot see that 9-3 being any more economical to run over the Accord. 5k also seems a bit expensive for an 11 year old example.

Just on that Saab, it’s not really a limited edition, it’s a Vector Sport which IIRC was nearly the standard on those by 2008.

Oh ok. Bit probably still remapped and all.

I worked in a Saab garage back then and remember that it was very common to remap them new as the price difference between a 1.8t and 2.0t was big so it made more sense to remap.

Thanks. Sound like this modification whether done by Saab are not could be a red flag to insurance companies.

On the Accord, that particular shape presents good fun when replacing bulbs. I think the front bumper has to come off!!

    Serious?
    That sounds ridiculous.
    Especially on a Honda

Its not that big a job to pull the bumper, Only a few screws and a couple of plastic clips and it pulls off.
I think you can do it through the wheel arch as well.

I know hondas are generally reliable. But is this particular generation one and engine also reliable?

I have a Tourer, Diesel not petrol.
They are very reliable if maintained. They don't seem to give many problems at all.
Honda have a rep for reliability and its not unfounded.
Parts from Honda can be expensive but not always, and there are a lot of other ways to get genuine parts apart from the main dealers.
Handling is good for a big car and comfort is very good.

Bumper does not need to come off. Two screws in the wheel well liner, a bit of brute force to pull that back and then you access to the bulbs. Bit of a tight squeeze but doable.
Great reliable car. Stick a decent set of tyres on it and its very capable on the roads at all speeds, conditions.

Seems like a big heavy car. Is it any way nippy with the weight etc?
