Tassimo- Costa Americano Pods

Late last year we had quality problems with some of the Tassimo/Costa Americano pods. We returned some packets and they agreed to refund us by vouchers. We are still waiting for same since December but had recent reassurance , they are on the way.

Found the same problem now, with recent purchases. In the same tinfoil pack some of the pods are fine while others are not. They appear to have same batch numer. Coffee looks flat and tastes sharp and sour.
Not caused by machine or water, as far as I know , since coffees prepared at same time vary.
Just wondering if anybody else has the same experience?
Pods purchased from a Dunnes & Tesco.

When did you last descale the machine?

About 4 weeks ago. Always do it when descale indicator displays.

Why can't you bring them back to Dunnes or Tesco. Surely that's the first port of call and where you legal rights lie?

    Yes, indeed you are right.
However I am just trying to gauge how widespread the issue is?

We tend to buy four or five packs at a time when they come on “special”...
maybe they are not such good value..

Have had an occasional issue with some pods that appear to burst in machine.

End up with loads of coffee "silt" in cup and around pod loading area.

    Anyone else?

@OP - does this issue only occur for the Costa coffee pods, or do you experience the same with other Tassimo pods? If it occurs with other pods, then it's a broader issue than the Costa variety.

I only use the Costa Americano pods. Tried Kenco but did not like taste. Being using Costa for over 2 years and problem only started in December last.
