Fairly set on getting Mazda's CX-5 but unsure if we should wait until 2020 as they may update it with the more efficient SkyActive x engine.

Anyone have any inside info on their plans? Or any other general advice ;)

I would say if you are in no rush to change then wait to see what happens. Maybe when its revamped next year it will get the new Skyactive x engine. You could always by a nearly new or second hand one while waiting.

The CX-5 only just got revamped for 2019. It was mostly trim levels and interior spec. I don't think the engines changed.

A lot depends on how many miles you do.

It could be a while before we see how reliable the new skyactiv-x is.
