    HI All

Looking for some advise here before I go to Solicitor

I engaged a company to carry out work in my Home to refurbish Bathroom

They visited my home and quoted for job in writing we accepted the quote and paid 50% upfront we waited almost 3 months for the agreed start Date

The Day before Job was to start they called and said they could not do Job and would refund Deposit

Now this sets us back 3 months at least and we have to start again getting quotes etc

Also we had prep work done to facilitate start

Do I have any recourse here or do I just suck it up and move on I feel some compensation should be forthcoming to make up for our loss of time work etc

    Is this Breach of Contract

    Thank You
    Mylesm

Suck it up I would say (as long as they refund you)

The prep would you would have had to do anyway so I don't really see why you mentioned that

Well I mentioned Prep as I only done it 3 days before Job was to start as it meant taking old Bathroom out of commission and also Bedroom as they were breaking in for new Ensuite because of this we now cannot use old Bathroom or Bedroom That is why I left prep work until last minute now we cannot use for however long it takes to get new quote and job done

If you get all your deposit back then I would say you are best to be happy with that and move on to a new contractor.
