Hi Having insulation, heating issues with my 1YO new build home. Have a Kingspan RW panel roof. Builder and my engineer drawing a blank. I've had two infra scans of the house pre pumping and post pumping. No improvement. Points to the roof as the culprit. I need an independent engineer to come and give me advice on next steps. Thanks

What's your heating system, have you got someone to check it's settings and out put?

Hi Syd UFCH with oil and multi fuel. I know its not the best match for UFCH but its ploughing through oil. Second scan just completed this morning and he is of the opinion its all in the roof.

Did you do an air-tightness test on the house when it was completed?

If so - what result did you get?

Sounds like an air-tightness issue to me - possibly between the panels in the roof. What thickness are your RW panels?

could very much be the junction between the roof and the wall.....

did you deal with this from an insulation continuity, and air tightness continuity, viewpoint.

Hi Y'all didn't to the air tightness. Second scan throws up heat loss like a top right around perimeter of the house. I know what the issue is Im just looking for a reputable consultant to advise me on next steps.

    Do an air-tightness test.

As I said I know what the problem is. I just need a consultant that will provide independent advice and importantly will be able to talk the talk with the builder. One of the things I became so aware of when building was my then lack of knowledge. I don;t want that happening on an important issue such as potentially a new roof. Therefore "free and fearless" advice and someone playing on my team.

What does this mean? Didn't do the air tightness or didn't do the air tightness test?

How do you know air tightness is not your issue?

Get a real thermal imaging survey done, whilst the house is depressurised by using a blower door machine. All sources for heat loss are clearly visible during such a test. A competent tester will supply you a report with all leaking building details, reasons for these issues and - in the best case - suggestions how to get the problems sorted.

Free advice and at the same time put "my" PI on the line..... how are you taking the stuff?

You say you know what the problem is but at the same time you need a professional opinion.
So you want "me" to come in, be told what the problem is and go fix it.
    For "me/my" read any advisor

A year ago you posted here regarding your possible problem.

Now based on that and what you are posting here "someone" has given you "some sort" of diagnosis.

Are they qualified to make the diagnosis?

And if so why are they not advising you?
