You could try Clondrinagh Motor Centre off the Ennis Road. They are mainly BMW specialists but they work on other German makes too. Worth a call anyway.

There is also a place called JV Gearbox Repairs, I've no experience of them but they have a facebook page so worth inquiring.

What age/ mileage is the car? VW offer goodwill way back on DSG repairs, it may be worth asking a dealer?

    What issues are you having?

I'm hearing of plenty of failures of DSG gearboxes.

2008 Skoda Superb II with a 6-speed DSG gearbox. For a while now there seems to be a lot of vibration through the car, and sometimes bad shuddering / juddering when driving. From what I can tell, it would seem to be either a problem with the gearbox or a problem with the dual mass flywheel. Sometimes I think I can gear a noise like a bearing that's worn out (but I've had the bearings checked and was told they were okay), which makes me think it's more likely to be a dmf problem. I haven't noticed any problems with gear changes, but I don't know what a worn clutch would feel like in a dsg box. I thought I felt the clutch slippind once yesterday. But from what I can read online, the 6-speed dsg box doesn't seem to really give problems (and I've always had the dsg serviced in line with the Skdoa recommendations, so it's been looked after well).

I would suggest calling a lad in ballanabualla (spelling) re dag problems. David Byrne. Had a chat with him the other day and is very knowledgeable on them and has contacts all around the country.

Galways just over an hour for him which would be good as ideal.

He bought it with 30,000 miles and a full Skoda service history it has always been serviced in line with recommendations, including the dsg service.

There is 270k km on it now, I'm wondering is it just time for a new clutch. 270k dosent sound like a lot though?

270k without a flywheel replacement would be fair going I would say.

Ya, I am thinking the same TBH. What's the avarage cost for a flywheel & clutch on a 2008 Skoda Superb II with a 6-speed DSG gearbox

    Roughly speaking.
