Defendant in Personal Injury Claim

    i'm the defendant in a personal injury claim, motor accident, and got the summons today, the insurers solicitor is on the case, can i request them come off record and get my solicitor to take the case?

    You can ask, but your insurer is unlikely to agree. It's a term of your insurance policy that they control the conduct of the defence of any claim against you for which you are indemnified by them. Only fair that they control the conduct of the case, since they're the ones at risk if a liability is found.

    Let the insurers solicitor handle it. Thats why you have insurance.
