I live in Northern Ireland but worked in Dublin in 2017 so was owed a large sum of tax. An accountant here filed my tax documents and sent them online on Wednesday 13th March 2019. He sent my bank account details im assuming online to the Irish Tax and Customs. I received a letter from them a few days later confirming they had received my bank account details. My question is how long is it usually before they they transfer the refund money into my account?

    Are you from the Future?:D

The letter you got is just confirmation of the bank details held online, and it issues out so that you can double check the account info. If it's correct, you need to do nothing, if its wrong you need to contact Revenue.

Generally, it takes only a few days for repayments to issue, but with you being resident in NI, it may take a bit longer. Most returns go through automatically, but if you are non-resident in the state, and are claiming things like cross border relief, then your return will likely be stopped by the internal system Revenue have, for manual processing
