I wonder can anyone remember 2 programmes I am trying to remember that I watched as a kid in the 80s.
I have tried googling them, but I haven't enough info to find them.

    1) As fair as I can remember, the first programme could have been on Action Station Saturday (?)
About a boy during World War 1 living on the coast of England, and he finds a german soldier.
Mikes War, or something like that ??

    2) About 2 men in American, that want to build a rocket in their junk yard.
I can actually picture the man in my head, but cant get his name to find the programme!

Im sorry about the scant details, but hopefully someone else watched them back in 2 Channel times!!

The only one I remember is called the "machine gunners" about kids in blitz london finding a crashed German plane the taking the gun off and shooting down another german plane with it and helping the German pilot.

For some reason... After posting that the name Andy just popped into my head for the American show, about the scrap yard..
I thought Andy Williams - but no , it was Andy Griffith , and I searched his bio, and Lo and Behold, the show was called "Salvage 1" !!
If I had searched for "salvage" instead of "scrap", I would have found it years ago. !

The latter was "Salvage 1", anyway. Starred Andy "Matlock" Griffith.

    No, it wasn't a cartoon. .

    It was …(somethings) War.
As far as I can remember, it involved a tower, on the coast, and a german soldier/pilot ?

Im afraid to watch that !!! It might destroy my memories of sitting down watching it as a kid, and LOVING the idea of building your own rocket, it sparked a massive interest in astronomy in me.

    Never go back ? :D

I remember watching Anything Goes on RTE with Aonghus McAnally, Mary Fitzgerald and I think Brush Shiels. Mary could do amazing things with pipe cleaners.

Pipe cleaners, toilet roll inserts, empty washing up liquid bottles... you name it, she could do it.

    Episode 8 (The Pilot) 11 March 1996

The kids find an injured German pilot in the greenhouse. The pilot is later arrested, and the kids suspicions of Vivienne Belling deepen when they hear her speaking German to the pilot. Also, in another attempt to get Amy to leave the farm, Grainger pulls some strings to have Luigi moved to Westbourne Hall. That night, Mary follows Grainger and Millington to try to find out what they're up to.

Why don't you just switch off the Internet and go out and do something less boring instead?

That's exactly what I thought as a kid in the 80's.

Why are these people on TV telling me to stop watching TV :p
