    Hi Folks,

Looking for any advice/tips/recommendations people may have here.

Misses and I have a wedding to go to in Bilbao next July. Looking to make a 2 week holiday out of it. Both mid 30's and enjoy the usual food/wine nights out and probably more active sightseeing like bike rides than walking round museums.

Wedding is a Friday but works best with work to take off the week before and after.

Have a rough plan of flying out Fri eve/ Sat Morn and spending the first weekend in San Sebastian.

Then possibly Mon/Tues- Thurs Go to Haro or somewhere in the wine region

    Wedding in Bilbao Thurs/Fri/Sat

Plan then is to just chill on a beach for the last week. Just in case the Atlantic is a bit cold might fly from Bilbao over to Ibiza or Majorca as its a cheap enough Domestic flight.

(Have been to Biarritz before so not looking to spend time there)

If have night free between 6th and 14th maybe pop over enjoy a night of San Fermin in Pamplona? Great street party...spectacular fireworks (at 11pm as I remember ). Dance, drink mingle. Go see bull dun 8am following morning..or not! (Don't do run!)
    Been often. Great fun.
A car would allow exploration of nice villages and hiking trails. The weather in Basque country in July, particularly near coast, can be a bit unpredictable ( which is why it's so green!)
However Pamplona can be hot, although only few hours away.

LaGuardia is a cool little winery town. It's an old medieval castle built on a hill. Lots of famous and small independent wineries around.

San Sebastian is class. Busy, but the food is wonderful.

Bilbao is fun for going out in.

There's a costal drive from small town to small town thats nice.

The sun shines and the Atlantic wind can blow cool. Mixed weather.

I would look to spend a day or two in Santander as well, although not technically in the Basque region it is only a couple of hours by bus from Bilbao. Nice beaches and walks in the old part of town.

    + 1 for Santander
In the Basque country, I enjoyed Lekeitio, pretty fishing town, half way between Bilbao and San Sebastian.
Inland, Vitoria-Gasteiz is a very pretty town, and the capital actually !
