Last Saturday (I think) I heard a music programme on RTE Radio 1. It played good music, a man was presenting it. I think it was either 6pm or 7pm. Does anyone know what it's called?

Saturday Sounds with Neil Doherty, I wonder?

A grand lad, he lived with my sister a few years ago. Does the odd bit on Drive time too I think. This show seems new, but promising.

Did you not like the music Brendan?

Be gentle now, he's decent enough for a young upstart. A young John Creedon, I surmise.

I suspect even the likes of John Peel wouldn’t be good enough for our Brendan.

Far be it from the Brenner to be unfair to up and coming ‘talent’.

The Bren is always objective and fair.

This guy is one of the Ray D'Arcy radio show production team.
His music knowledge seems limited, or taken from the internet and always seems to play ABBA or a song from Mamma Mia.

Radio 1 should have real mature music fans and experienced radio heads presenting these music based shows.

I reckon I've heard Neil Doherty presenting a music programme for RTÉ Radio 1 on and off at various stages for quite a while now. I've heard him over holiday periods and also on Sunday afternoons/early evenings if and when sports coverage wrapped up earlier at certain times of the year. He has played Abba/Mamma Mia tracks but he also has quite a varied selection too. It's easy listening and does not claim to be anything out of this world to be fair. I would have no hesitation in recommending this particular show.
