    hi all

    looking at buying either a 2007 Mazda 6 ( 1.8 petrol ) or a 2007 Avensis ( also 1.8 petrol ) .

According to Honestjohn and Parkers they would both appear to be relatively good buys but I was just wondering what others opinions are as to the merits of one over the other.

the Mazda's interior looks fresher where as the Avensis looks to have lots of grey plastic

It would be used mainly for motorway driving so economy and comfort would be important as well as reliability.

    thanks in advance

I’m gonna say the Avensis even though the Mazda is something a bit different. The early 1.8 Avensis had oil burning issues but an 07 should be ok.
The Toyota will be easier and cheaper to get parts for, but that shape Avensis is a bit of a skobe wagon at this stage.

The 1.8 in the Mazda is a Ford engine, also known for being made from chocolate though, isn't it?
