Best of luck to the extended family from the Naul who won the Euro jackpot. I note from reports today that one of them is a keen cyclist. He is looking forward to " buying a push bike for €14,000 to €15,000 . What would you suggest or indeed buy if you were lucky enough?
Interested to hear your thoughts on this, does he have to even go 14k, ?

I'd suggest, don't lock it in Dublin City Centre.

how about spending the money on three different bikes?

Sean O'Rourke seemed astounded to learn that you could spend over €5,000 on a bike.

I'd buy a team car and hire a crew to hand me bottles, food etc.

i'd buy a tandem and pay sean kelly to take most of the grunt work.

Great thread lads, was only thinking today I came into a bit of money recently and wanted to purchase a new bike myself. I'd be doing some riding around the back-roads of North County Dublin myself. :pac:

How much does a FiftyOne bike generally cost? The deposit is around €3600.

This would be my winter bike

https://www.canyon.com/en-ee/road/ultimate/evo/ - but Shimano Dura Ace Di2. One for each day of the month. And their own SRM.

Lotto winners don't do winters! Warm weather training all year round.

With e175m in the bank, I'd absolutely lock it in the city centre. Sit nearby with a coffee and observe smugly !!

I’d be more worried about whether or not you can fit a bike rack on a Bugatti

The Rás Tailteann powered by Gerry Brown has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

https://youtu.be/oSGEm61i0CM all handled. Remember jag made a rack for one of theirs for team sky as a promo https://youtu.be/irWK3drZoVM . I'd probably go with one of them, or maybe an f40 🀔

I think the Passoni Top Force is about €6k for the frame and forks, so stick a Super record group set on that with a pair of Zipp wheels and €14k goes in a flash

edit: I may have underestimated the price of the frame

I’d buy several bikes, Trek Madone 9.9, S-Works Tarmac SL6, Canyon Endurance CF SLX and probably a few others and a villa in Tenerife for the winter months.

are woodelo still going? if you want a bike that will stand out from anything anyone else is riding, a wooden one is a definite option.

After about 10 years of various versions of 105 groupsets, I would go crazy and buy an upgrade equipped with Ultegra.
