Thats generally the type of horse that run in Bumpers!!

Relegate and Carefully selected were first and second last year. Both are 3M plodders.

Vibes all seem fairly good around Blue Sari.

No idea what to back, maybe Joey's Meticulous at a bigger price. Get Ryan Moore to ride it.

The way Ryan Moore has being riding the last 12 Months or so, I wouldn't get him to ride a clothes horse.

You have successfully re-awoken some very painful memories of Golden Cross though, thank you :(:(

Any official word on Andy D? I know they said it was unlikely he'd go to the festival but anything more concrete? Must be still in Zihuatanejo...

I think the bumper is a real lottery. Unless you have some serious stable info I wouldn't bother getting too involved.

I remember watching the morning line the year Briar Hill won at 25/1. That's right, a 25/1 Ruby Walsh winner. Ruby was interviewed riding out Briar Hill that morning. " She'll make into a nice chaser next year" . The horse won by 7 lengths.

I doubt they even know themselves what they have until they are half way up the hill.

All the entries are online only 24 odd entries he’s not amongst them

Ruby let’s the likes of Patrick and the other lads pick what ones they’re riding in the bumper. Patrick knows them inside out and it’s only when they’re ready to go jumping that Ruby gets involved. I’ve heard it before off different lads that have had horses with Mullins that he only wants to know about them if they’re Grade 1 potential in the next 12 -18 months. Now I heard that about 6 or 7 years ago so it may be different now or it may not have been true at all!

There’s every chance Ruby was told that Briar Hill had a chance and that’s why he rode it but obviously his price reflected where he stood in he stable lineup.

Ruby doesn't "let's Patrick ride anything. Ruby is told what he is riding.

You should have known not to listen given he didn't even know the sex of the horse he was riding.

I fairness to Ruby Walsh I may have made a typo in this instance, I doubt he wouldn't know the difference.

I just spent my Sunday morning going down through the Bumper entries and I am amazed to see that there are not too many WPM entries at all? Is this correct, I only spotted Mount Leinster and Blue Sari?

Yes, by Patrick. Patrick looks after the bumper horses that’s common knowledge.

Think Abacadabras still has a decent chance in this race. Was running a cracker before deciding to run out last time and that was only his 2nd start.
Have watched the race numerous times and am still of the opinion he would have gotton very close to EA had he stayed on the track.
    Surely there's more to come

    14/1 currently

Just the 2 entries you’d imagine mount Leinster would need a big turnaround to threaten EA.

    Agree re Abacadra

It was the first time he was hit by a whip so he will learn from that.

Going to go with Meticulous here. Ran a cracker behind the fav and looked like a stiffer test may help. Also his mammy used to run very well around Cheltenham. Will probably wait till the extra place concessions on the day before i put on a decent bet. GL

The mother was nipped on the line by Whiteoak in the mares hurdle. It was a photo finish, I was on her at 10's, the pain.

Should have but these young horses improving at different rates it’s near impossible to be adamant on anything

If the race was over 2m @ Leopardstown again then it would be hard to separate them. I'm just taking a punt that Meticulous will act better around Cheltenham, given the stiff track, and the fact that his breeding says he should.
