Do you think Mike Shinoda will continue with Linkin Park with himself as lead singer?

He was rapper/co-vocalist, keyboard player, guitarist and main song writer in the band, his new solo album doesn't sound too different from Linkin Park material post 2009. I can't imagine any other solution as other singers who are capable of singing Chester Benningtons parts are hardly going to leave their own band to go do Linkin Park tours, with Shinoda as singer they currently have around 15-20 songs he could sing himself.

He responded very agressively in an interview recently. He's tired of people asking this very question, as it drives people to wonder who's coming in, in Chester's place. They haven't even gotten back together to do anything yet. If anyone else comes in, he said it has to be a natural coming together, as opposed to actively being sought out. But they're not anywhere near doing anything at all by the seems of things.

When they do get back together, I'd expect it to take more of a hip/hop direction that they were originally going with. As the singing and harmonies seemed to come from Chester's influence after he joined them.

But the thing about that is that to be able to find someone who is capable of singing the songs well you would need to go out of your way to look around for example look how badly some of the bands friends performed at the memorial show, they would be the ones who would be invited it if he is talking about things happening naturally.

I thought they were nu-metal even before he joined, a couple of the songs from Hybrid Theory had already been written and recorded with the previous singer in 1997.

    Nu-metal was never their intention.

There was a good performance of one of the Hybrid Theory songs at his concert tonight
